I’m thankful for…

I am so thankful for my new computer!!! Ah! Finally!!

I can post new photos!!!

Yes. Putting full blame for no website picture updates on the absence of a computer this summer. A whole summer. Without my electronic life. Actually, I’m blaming my lack of all posts this summer on the fact that I was computer-less. Yep :)

But hey.. it sure as heck makes me appreciate having one sooo much more!

:D

Below: Picture of me and the wam bam fam. Taken at Kalamalka Lake this summer!! There’s another ‘I’m Thankful’.. SO thankful to have been able to make it back to Canada for the yearly family vacation to Kal Lake.

17 Most Stylish People at NYFW

I love this article because they are their own person, in their own style, not trying to be anyone or anything or any trend. I love.

Wake up and be ready…

Thursday morning… In and out of sleep.. I hear my phone in the distance..

I finally came somewhat conscious and answered.

Joe, my booker: “Lacey can you work for Macy’s today???”

Me: “Ermmmm, uhhh,…” -trying to wake up- “YES ok. Sure! Of course!”

Joe: “Ok get there as fast as you can… As in leave right now”

Flewww out of bed, into my clothes, out on the sidewalk, up to the subway, down to the city, and into the Macys.com studio!! Wooop!!

I thought I’d most likely be in Milan by this point, but since I am still posted up in NY I am suuuure thankful to be working :)

That being said, off to Milwaukee this weekend for Kohl’s!!

So thankful!!!

Summer in the city

It’s been about a year since I first started up my dot com.
I have done more than I dreamed I would in the last 365 days! I am so thankful for absolutely every single moment. Even those ones that slip my mind for a sec and especially those ones that seem to happen too quickly.
The road has zigzagged quite a bit.. But all in the seemingly right directions :)
I’m so fortunate to be able to say some special people have come into my life in this past year. And I’m also so blessed that I’ve still been able to spend a valuable amount of time with the friends and fam that I have long known and loved.

The last real update I had was yesterday. Or what feels like yesterday. (May 4th to be exact)
A few days earlier, I hadn’t a clue where I was headed next. I was unsure of my plans for summer.
The next day, May 5th I found myself on a one-way flight to NYC. I was south-east bound to visit one of those special people I mentioned earlier ;)
Soon after I landed in the city I was on the hunt to find myself a good New York agency.  I was so excited when I was asked to sign with ONE management.. They are wonderful. I really couldn’t ask for a better team of people taking care of me here in New York. They’ve been keeping me so darn busy!
It’s been surreal.
Absolutely incredible.
Oh my goodness.
Between some choice jobs with One, and Kohl’s (dare I say becoming more and more frequent thanks to Ingrid at Wilhelmina Miami).. Boy..
Living and working – or more precisely, doing what I love – in and around NYC is a dream come true. I love it here but definitely know that I want to keep exploring.
That being said, I recently began planning my new adventure to Milan, Italy!!
It will be my first time there for work. I am so excited.
Believe it or not I was a little hesitant at first (before I made the official decision to go). Yess.. I know.. Why in the stinking heck would I be hesitant? I suppose I was just enjoying summer in New York a whole lot and didn’t want it to end ;)
But when my senses finally found their way back to me (with some help from my Elite Toronto fam) I realized how great it could be.
My ‘date of departure’ is tbd!! But agh! I can definitely say I am off to Italy in a week or maybe two. (Thank you Matti!)

There’s my go at trying to update you on my summer in one post.. I think I can leave things to continue tomorrow.. or the tomorrow after that.
I’m going to try to bring up to date as many photos as seems fit since the last time I posted (some of you must surely know how much I love my photographasss) ;)

For those who are reading this.. Thanks for continuing to return after my huge lack of updates this summer!

See y’all soon.

Oh home.. Yes I am hooome

On my way home! Yes! Home!
Just in time for Easter.  I was so excited to see all of the relatives we had visiting from the west coast!
They hadn’t changed a bit.
I had one special welcoming
committee at the Saskatoon airport.

I love all of you so much.. And maybe now even a bit more for doing this for me.
Home has been great.
I am so thankful for remembering where I came from :)

♥ LOVE YOU MOM, DAD, ELLIOTT, AND JULIAN ♥

APRIL Showers… With good things :)

End of April…

Work had slowed quite a bit. But then all of the sudden boom! I was super fortunate to score a couple of great bookings from Wilhelmina. I shot twice for Freddy Italy – an Italian activewear company. And oh my goodness the team I worked with was to die for. Really now. They were absolutely incredible. In total I was able to work with them for 5 days. And I know I keep saying this (also, I suppose I should watch what I say) But truthfully it was definitely up there in some of the best sets I’ve been a part of. Everyone was so easy going and in happy spirits from start to finish :)
The second week with them was really interesting. We were set up along the beach and did every shot in the water while sitting or standing or kneeling or something on top of a piece of floating furniture. In the smoking hot sun – this was just so ideal ;)

Thanks so much all of y’all!

In the middle of all of that I had a couple of days free… Filled it up with working on the set of the glades (an A&E TV show). It was going to be a long day and I was almost regretting committing to it at first. That was until I arrived at set and realized how slick of a day it was about to be :)
I was working with Katie – awesome chiclet I had met earlier in the season. We basically just sunbathed in bikinis all day long .. Alternating between the hotel, pool and the beach.. And the craft services tent. It was a beautiful thing ;)
It was great getting in some quality girl chat with you Katie :) :) …. Especially while being on the clock!!

The end of the month brought me to a little place called Chicago :D :D

Met some great people, and had some successful appointments!! Yay! Well worth the fast blast two days I was there :D

I am thankful for…

I am so thankful for the wonderful photo shoot I had with a full team of make up and hair stylists from all over the U.S.!! James Weber – awesome photographer. Thanks a lot for a great day of shooting in the sunshine!!

I am thankful for…

Today I am so thankful for my girls Shardea and Alyssa. Had such a great day full of giggles and good times :)

Love you girls.

Marching on…

Ok what? March 28? Are you kidding me? My life is on fast forward 32X speed. Seriously. But another great month has been had :)

I experienced my first ever NBA game! Phhewww baby it was awesome! Miami Heat VS LA Lakers – Great game! Well.. I probably would have thought the same regardless of which game and which team it was. So much energy and excitement!!

The model volleyball tourney turned out awesome!!! Basking in volleyball glory from sunrise to sunset. They had set us up with plenty of snacks and drinks and MUSIC! (I know.. I clearly haven’t had a reality check in a while)

Also.. A good friend was down in SoBe for a couple of weeks – taking a break from his rock star life in NYC. Glad it was during the volleyball madness. (Had so much fun with your constant comic relief Manny)

Stole some of these from my honest to goodness great friend Sergio – Thanks mister  ;)

Last week I worked for Juicy Couture’s grand opening event with my sweet Willy girlies! And then Erin took us all for Cold Stone Ice Cream afterwards. I DIIEEEEE. Thank you very much for that special treat Erin :D

Saturday I walked in The Blonds runway show at Funkshion Miami. AHHHH!! Funkshion is basically a week long fashion event similar to fashion week. Just a bit more glitz and glam and party ;) And the shows were held in a big show tent set up on the beach – AWESOME!

The next day was full day of shooting with a great team in Hollywood, Miami. We were set up at an oooldies style motel. I shot with a couple of my good friends which was awesome!

I will try to post the real deal photos soon!

I’m hoping for one more blog-worthy story before the end of the month… Something to help fill the gaps that have started to open from friends venturing elsewhere off the beach.. Miss you buggers already. See you soon :)
