I’m thankful for…

I am so thankful for my new computer!!! Ah! Finally!!

I can post new photos!!!

Yes. Putting full blame for no website picture updates on the absence of a computer this summer. A whole summer. Without my electronic life. Actually, I’m blaming my lack of all posts this summer on the fact that I was computer-less. Yep :)

But hey.. it sure as heck makes me appreciate having one sooo much more!

:D

Below: Picture of me and the wam bam fam. Taken at Kalamalka Lake this summer!! There’s another ‘I’m Thankful’.. SO thankful to have been able to make it back to Canada for the yearly family vacation to Kal Lake.

Summer in the city

It’s been about a year since I first started up my dot com.
I have done more than I dreamed I would in the last 365 days! I am so thankful for absolutely every single moment. Even those ones that slip my mind for a sec and especially those ones that seem to happen too quickly.
The road has zigzagged quite a bit.. But all in the seemingly right directions :)
I’m so fortunate to be able to say some special people have come into my life in this past year. And I’m also so blessed that I’ve still been able to spend a valuable amount of time with the friends and fam that I have long known and loved.

The last real update I had was yesterday. Or what feels like yesterday. (May 4th to be exact)
A few days earlier, I hadn’t a clue where I was headed next. I was unsure of my plans for summer.
The next day, May 5th I found myself on a one-way flight to NYC. I was south-east bound to visit one of those special people I mentioned earlier ;)
Soon after I landed in the city I was on the hunt to find myself a good New York agency.  I was so excited when I was asked to sign with ONE management.. They are wonderful. I really couldn’t ask for a better team of people taking care of me here in New York. They’ve been keeping me so darn busy!
It’s been surreal.
Absolutely incredible.
Oh my goodness.
Between some choice jobs with One, and Kohl’s (dare I say becoming more and more frequent thanks to Ingrid at Wilhelmina Miami).. Boy..
Living and working – or more precisely, doing what I love – in and around NYC is a dream come true. I love it here but definitely know that I want to keep exploring.
That being said, I recently began planning my new adventure to Milan, Italy!!
It will be my first time there for work. I am so excited.
Believe it or not I was a little hesitant at first (before I made the official decision to go). Yess.. I know.. Why in the stinking heck would I be hesitant? I suppose I was just enjoying summer in New York a whole lot and didn’t want it to end ;)
But when my senses finally found their way back to me (with some help from my Elite Toronto fam) I realized how great it could be.
My ‘date of departure’ is tbd!! But agh! I can definitely say I am off to Italy in a week or maybe two. (Thank you Matti!)

There’s my go at trying to update you on my summer in one post.. I think I can leave things to continue tomorrow.. or the tomorrow after that.
I’m going to try to bring up to date as many photos as seems fit since the last time I posted (some of you must surely know how much I love my photographasss) ;)

For those who are reading this.. Thanks for continuing to return after my huge lack of updates this summer!

See y’all soon.

Brrrrr.. for a few days

The weekend has came and almost went.. We have been hit with a bit of a cold spell – but Miami is still paradise nonetheless. I have been meeting some really neat people in and around the hotel. Everyone has something interesting to say or talk about. Met some fellows from LA in town to shoot a Nike commercial. Basically their lives consist of getting flown from city to city, country to country, doubling famous actors in films and shootings television commercials. Not bad at all. A lady I met had her birthday while she was staying at the hotel here – came in from San Francisco, has lived all over the states. After talking for a bit I learnt her spouse is from Saskatoon! My home! I love the comfort in knowing how small of a world it really is.

Thought for the day…

When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
